Day 1: Kuala Namu Airport - Bukit Lawang (3.5 hours drive)
Arrive at Kuala Namu International Airport, then drive to Bukit Lawang, the observation point of Orangutans, located in Gunung Leuser Naional Park. Passing through landscape with vast view of palm oil and rubber plantation. En-route stops for rubber, oil palm and cacao plantations with some countryside landscape.
Two nights stay in Bukit Lawang.
Day 2: Bukit Lawang - Visi Orangutans Centre
In the morning, visit the feeding platform to see the Orangutan while being fed and prepared for release back into their natural habitat. The excursion starts with a short walk along the river ban and crossing the river with rubber boat or traditional canoe, continuing the hike amidst the thick and hilly bushes until you reach at the platforms where regularly, twice a day at 8am and 3pm. After that continue with a 3-hours jungle trekking. Steep, slopes and dense vegetation will bring you to the excitement of the Sumatra rainforest. Here there is a opportunity to see several species of indigenous flora and fauna. Walkers must be fit and have suitable, comfortable shoes. Rest of the day is free for swimming or take a beautiful walk to the local village nearby.
Day 3: Bukit Lawang - Kuala Namu International Airport
Today, drive back to catch your flight for next destination.
* Those who bring camera/video in the Orangutan site will be charged additional USD 6.00 for camera and USD 18.00 for video (subject to change depending local regulation)
* Most guests can see Orangutans at the feeding platform, but it is not 100% guarantee. Sometimes Orangutans do not want to go down to the feeding platform because of fruit season in the jungle. In this case, they like to stay in the jungle than go down to the feeding platform. This is a natural reason and we cannot do anything in this case.
